Turning the small brass knob on the wood rim and
opening the glass cover reveals the solid brass plate with its inlaid
porcelain face. This one-eighth inch solid brass face mounting
plate is inlaid into the wood body.
The porcelain face, one of the quality features of the Commodore's
Clock, is fired on a heavy gauge steel plate.
The hinge of the clock is incorporated into the brass bezel and face
mounting plate, reminiscent of a ship's porthole.
